Performance Program
The purpose of this add-on program is to give kids age 8-14 extra training opportunities to step up their skills and intensity. As long as the kids are taking advantage of the core programs (KStar/K1/K2), we feel that there should always be an opportunity to “do more.”
All Performance Program events for these kids will be listed and labeled in the club calendar. These opportunities will be “pay to play” and will require advance signup on through our website - no exceptions. If you plan on taking advantage of 5 or more days of this program for at Whistler, we recommend you take advantage of the early bird rates for the Whistler Blackcomb Edge card (Mid Nov deadline).
We have a few "Performance Program" opportunities coming up in the late fall:
- Mid November, freeskiing at Whistler (strong KStars, K1s & K2s). This will depend entirely on their opening date and conditions and will be only 1 day so you can make a day trip out of it. Stay tuned.
- End of November Sun Peaks camp (KStar/K1/K2). We are finalizing details on costs. K1 & K2 must travel and stay as team, all KStars need to travel & stay with parents. Sun Peaks is open for public. Stay tuned for cost and details.
- Early December freeskiing at Whistler (strong KStars, K1s & K2s). This will depend entirely on the conditions at Whistler (and Grouse) and will be only 1 day so you can make a day trip out of it. Stay tuned.
During the winter, some "PP" examples are:
- Ski up opportunities: If the kids are working hard and skiing well, they will get the opportunity to ski with the older group. MtnStar->KStar->K1->K2->VST.
- Mid week opportunities to train with WMSC or other Vancouver clubs on prime Grouse terrain that is usually not available.
Post season we anticipate these "PP" opportunities:
- Spring skiing and training at Whistler or Blackcomb
- Spring SuperCamp during the May long weekend.
- Summer Supper Camp on the Blackcomb Glacier
- Multi sport camps (soccer, gymnastics, swiming, mtn biking)
