Nancy Green Festival @ Sun Peaks - Mar 13-14, 2010
Event Description
This is an NGSL/MntStar/KStar race. It consists of the following events:
- Dual GS
- Skill testing event: moguls, jumping, RCMP speed trap & skills course
Over the last few years, the Sun Peaks Festival was a popular event with Tyee families: in 2009 over 90 Tyee races and their families attended the Festival. The reasons are good snow, big mountain skiing and a lot of fun for the children, on and off snow. Given the local snow conditions, this year’s Festival is the perfect opportunity for good skiing and socializing with your fellow Tyees.
A note for NGSL/KStar/MStar parents who are also K1/K2 parents: given the local skiing conditions, the technical staff is looking into Sun Peaks Festival as an opportunity for K1/K2 skiing/training. Should this happen, you’ll be notified shortly.
Schedule:
Fri, Mar 12, 2010: Meet your coaches in front of the main lodge at Sun Peaks at the bottom of Sundance Express lift at 12:00

Sat, Mar 13, 2010: Meet your coaches at 8am in front of the main lodge at the bottom of the Sundance Express lift.

As we are on a foreign mountain, we kindly ask parents for help with escorting groups (one parent only/ per group)
Cost: $150
- This fee covers the Entry Fee (race fee, souvenir T-shirt, entrance to carnival, awards) and coaches expenses (transport, accommodation, meals, lift tickets). This amount is based on an approximate ratio of 6 races per 1 coach. Any discrepancies will be adjusted at a later date.
Arrangements
1. This is a family event. This means the families need to organize their own transportation, accommodation, meals and lift tickets.
2. Registered races will receive 40% discount of the regular lift ticket rate. Make sure you ask for it when purchasing lift tickets for your child.
3. If your child has a Grade 4/5 Snow Pass, don't forget to bring and use it.
4. Grouse Tyee Pass holders (parents, siblings) will receive 25% discount for lift tickets. Don't forget to bring your Grouse Tyee Passes.
5. Try to purchase multi day passes prior to Saturday morning to avoid the rush.
Registration
There will be no provision for late registration, cancellations or surprise shows on the race weekend.
