There will be a charge of 15$ for coaching fees and expenses, payable here online by Saturday, Mar 20th.
The entry fee is a cheap 20$ (product code is 37569 - Enchanted Forest Race), payable at Whistler Mountain on Sunday morning.
This entry fee combined with the discounted lift tickets will need to be paid on Sunday morning at the ski school office in the village...every family individually. You will need to do this before 8 am as the lineup at guest services gets quite large. Please meet the coaches at 8:15 in front of the Whistler gondola. We'll aim to be back down to the bottom by 3:15-3:30.
This is the schedule:
8 AM Ski School Sales open
8.15 meet coaches in front of Whistler gondola
8:30 AM - lifts open, gondola ride to RH lodge is 25 minutes
9 AM - Check-in in the roundhouse.
9:30 to 10 AM - Course inspection
10:15 AM - 12 PM - Race on Enchanted Forest
2:15 PM - Award ceremony in front of the Ski School, might move to Roundhouse if weather is bad.
3:15 - 3.30 back at the bottom
Ski School Sales will have all the names of kids and parents that are eligible for the 50% off tickets.
The format of the race is a one run "mini SG" with lots of gliding on flats and one steep pitch in the middle. It is a relatively basic event that helps expose our kids to Whistler J4 and E2 groups. The course is not all that fast, but it does place emphasis on good inspection. Speed suits are not allowed but jackets may be taken off to improve aerodynamics. As it's a 1 run event, everything will be over rather quickly, so the bonus will be the freeskiing the big mountain for the rest of the day.
