NGSL / MSTAR / KSTAR / K1 / K2 Training Camp @ Apex, Feb 13-17

DEADLINE SUNDAY FEB 7th

The long range forecasts are saying more of the same warm temperatures between now and mid February. To meet our ski racing objectives we need a solid and good quality training block in February.

With that in mind, we are offering a GS training camp at Apex Feb 13-17 for racers of ALL ages. This may be our only top notch training opportunity for the month of February.

The camp is organized as a 5 day progression, yet we understand that some may need to depart early and can also do a 3 day option Feb 13-15. KStar/MtnStar and NGSL groups will only do a 3 day camp, Feb 13-15.  The plan would be to depart early on the 13th and train from noon-onwards (they have nightskiing as well). All other days we would aim to ski a normal/full day, including the departure day.

There has been great interest about this camp for the whole family. With that in mind, the logistics for this trip are slightly different than usual. Primarily, we are asking and encouraging for the entire family to join us and get some good skiing at Apex. Parents, siblings, friends are invited and welcome! However, we realize that not all families can attend and we will be offering the usual team arrangements for K1/K2 racers. We are also continuing the regular program at Grouse during this period.

In an attempt to keep our costs to a minimum, the transportation will all be done by carpooling. Due to Olympic transportation obligations, charter transport is far too cost prohibitive. We are able to assist families in the carpool arrangements, please contact Irene if you need a ride or have any extra seats.

Pete Dolman has been able to secure unbelievable discounts on accommodation, meals and lift tickets! Although Apex is not officially a member partner of the 25% ski pass reciprocal agreement, they have extended themselves to offer us a 25% discount on regular daily rates: parents, siblings and family members all included.

The Gunbarrel Saloon and restaurant at the base of the mountain adjacent to the hotel can offer us a meal plan. Our experience with this in past years has been very positive. The food quality has been good and they allow us to choose the menu. We have managed to get a pre-season 45% racer discount rate for the hotel accommodations on the side of the ski hill.

These are estimated costs. Final costs will be reconciled after the camp.

TEAM COSTS: (register online here)
Team cost for K1 racers is 555$ and K2 racers is 605$. This includes the base coaches fee, accommodation, meal plan and lift tickets - all inclusive for 5 days. Depending on final numbers, we will need chaperone(s) to assist in monitoring the kids. No other sign up is required. Final costs will be reconciled after the camp.

BASE COSTS: (register online here)
Base cost for racers on this self serve option is 95$ for 3 days (NGSL,MTNSTAR,KSTAR,K1,K2) and 150$ for 5 days (K1/K2 only) and covers expenses required to get your coaches to Apex. Families will need to book own accommodation, mealplan and lift tickets. Same deals have been arranged as for the team so make sure to take advantage.
