Welcome back to the new season 2022-23

Here’s some information on dryland, fitness testing and what’s coming up in the next few weeks.

DRYLAND:

1st dryland session for ALL (U8 to U16) age groups: Thursday, 8 September 2022.

In general, you find information about dryland here on our website and in the calendar page, including start times, location, etc…

Tuesdays and Thursdays:

LOCATION: Westview Elementary School (641 17th Street West, North Vancouver, BC V7M 0A1).

TIME: 5:00 - 6:30 pm ALL age groups

Saturday: 

LOCATION: Brockton Oval @ Stanley Park - NW entrance

TIME: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm ALL age groups

 

DRYLAND CHANGES

  • SAT. September 17 → Cypress Pop-up Village with BBQ & Ski Swap
  • THU. September 22 → Grouse Grind
  • SAT. October 1 → Family hike
  • SAT + SUN. October 9 & 10 → Family fitness challenge

 

FITNESS TESTING (for U8 to U16)

  • Test #1 → Sunday, 11 September 2022 
    LOCATION: Lionsgate Rec. Center
    TIME: 10:00 am (approximately 1 to 1.5 hours)
  • Test #2 → in November - Details will be announced closer to the event.

BBQ & SKI SWAP

If you’re selling, make sure your equipment is in good working condition!

If you’re buying, please consult with the coaches before purchasing!

LOCATION: Cypress Pop-up Village at 3757 Cypress Bowl Rd. West Vancouver

PROGRAM: 

9am-11:30am Dryland plus special activities, get ready to boogie!

9:15am new member meet up

9:30am gear swap begins (please arrive early to get a parking spot)

9:30am Tyee hoodies and t-shirts available for purchase 

10:30am ski tuning demo 

11:30am BBQ begins

 

MONTH OF LISTENING

The fifth MOL will run from September 15 to October 15. This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts on the programs and offer constructive feedback. New ideas are always welcome! Stay tuned for the official opening on Sept. 15.

 

CONCUSSION AWARENESS

A learning opportunity about what a concussion is, its dangers and symptoms as well as what a safe return to sport plan looks like.

Tentative dates:

  • Concussion presentation + Q&A: October 3
  • Baseline testing: October 23

 

PARENT INFO NIGHTS

Pre-season information meetings will be held  every Wednesday night, starting on October 5.

We will likely resume meeting in person, so stay tuned for more information on location and time.
