Tyee strayed from its regular Thursday dryland of circuits, trail runs and fitness to tackle the Grouse Grind as a club.

Although it may have been a rush to get there through Vancouver traffic, Tyee gathered on time at the bottom of The Grind®, where parents and athletes were ready to set new and first-time time records. The U8s were the first to start up the rocky trail, followed by the U10 and U12 athletes. Our U14, U16, and VST athletes were the last to start The Grind® but quickly passed our younger athletes. While our athletes U14 and up took just under 50 minutes, our U8 - U12 athletes took just over an hour, with a couple of U10s hitting a new record at 59 minutes!

Parents and coaches found athletes quickly refuelling with water and some hearty cinnamon buns at the top of The Grind®. Our Skyride down witnessed a beautiful sunset that concluded the initial Grouse Grind of our fall dryland season! We thank our parents for volunteering to assist coaches in keeping our team together and safe up the steep and rocky trail.
