The crisp mountain air and the promise of adventure greeted the U12 girls as they gathered at the base of the mountain at 7pm for a once (or maybe twice!) in a lifetime opportunity to sleepover at the Tyee Cabin. 

Upon our arrival at the cabin, the girls eagerly set up their beds for the night, brushed their teeth and went straight to bed…

… just kidding! The girls excitedly set up their beds, but they weren’t quite ready to settle in for the night.

Once all set up, we bundled up and ventured into the enchanting Grouse Mountain Lightwalk, where the snow-covered forest was transformed into a winter wonderland. Guided by holiday lights and music, the girls walked through the forest stopping only when photo opportunity presented itself.

After the Lightwalk, the girls returned to the warmth (?) of the cabin for a delightful spread of snacks and hot chocolate. Once re-energized, the girls engaged in a craft session, making personalized bracelets with some Tyee inspiration. 

Lights out came as the final chapter of the evening. The girls bundled themselves up and climbed into their sleeping bags and drift off into a well-deserved slumber (some faster than others!). 

Morning light revealed a stunning winter landscape and the girls awoke around 6:30am. The day started with a light breakfast and packing up.  After the cabin was tidy and the girls were all packed, they went out to enjoy some snow play before we embarked on our trip to the Skyride where the weary girls (and chaperones) met parents and hopefully all went home for a nap.
