Our U8, U10, and U12 athletes gathered at Sun Peaks Resort this past weekend to ski at the 13th annual Nancy Greene Ski League (NGSL) Festival, joining nearly 600 kids in a 2-day race and skills event. Racers competed in a dual Glalom and skills events including moguls course, obstacle course, Kombi, speed trap, and jump contest.
Tyees were training with coaches as early as Wednesday afternoon last week, skiing all over Sun Peaks Resort. Mornings at Sun Peaks were a little icy and afternoons were slushy, but the race course was perfectly prepped and icy. And both days of the festival were sunny and bright with bluebird skies!

On the Thursday, parents held a ski tuning session, providing a wax and side edge tune for kids' skis! Donations for the wax and tune went towards the coaches dinner. Thanks to Tyee parent Henry Lee for leading this tradition!

Congratulations to all the Tyees who skied and gave their best effort at training and during the festival! And congratulations to Louis Qiu and Brooklyn Larsen, second year U12s, for winning the top spots for the dual glalom. Congratulations to fellow Tyees, Amelia Park, Charlotte Zhu, Parker Johnson, Barnaby Orde, Elle Rokoss, Giselle Lambert, Sophia Chen, Ryo Pettersen, Camille Pla, and William Lucas who all made the top 10 in their age categories.
